A Balance Diet

What your pet consumes can mean the difference between simply surviving and truly thriving. Yet with literally hundreds of  different food to choose from, figuring out which one is the right fit can be challenging, Furthermore, many species of companion animals have their own specific dietary requirements. The team at Erindale Animal Hospital is knowledgable and experienced in identifying the unique nutritional needs of each patient. We can assess your pet and determine just what food would be perfect for them. We'll even advise you on how much and how often you should be feeding your pet for optimum results.

The Right Weight

Just like in humans, a few extra pounds can lead to serious health problems. Obesity can even shorten your pet's life. That us why making sure that your loved one maintains a healthy weight is so important. We can help by determining which range would be ideal for your particular pets and then developing a strategy for achieving that goal. Through things like proper diet, exercise and calorie control, we can help keep your pet in peak condition.

Ongoing Maintenance

As your pet ages, their nutritional and weight control needs will inevitably change. In order for us to continue achieving the desired results, we must ensure that our approach also evolves. At certain life stages, such as transition from youth to adulthood, we will evaluate our plan and make any necessary adjustments. Did you know that as a pet transitions to adulthood, their metabolism decreases by 15%. Their metabolism also decreases another 17% following a spay or neuter. We offer complimentary weight checks 60 days post spay or neuter to help stay on top of metabolic changes. This will improve the chances of your companion staying in optimal shape throughout their life.
